Dan started creating his own designs in the basement of his house using recycled Finger Lakes wine barrels in 2005. A true small-business success story, Staving Artist has expanded multiple times, with financing help from the FLEDC, culminating with the opening of their own retail shop on Main Street in Penn Yan.”

“In 1986 Abtex purchased the old Dresden Elementary School building and relocated its young Rochester-based business to Yates County. For the past 33 years Abtex, with help from the FLEDC, has grown the business to 35+ people shipping advanced deburring systems and deburring consumables around the world. Abtex has relied on the local area to provide a highly skilled workforce including accounting, sales, marketing, engineering (electrical, mechanical, controls), manufacturing and assembly. ”
