The FLEDC, in collaboration with the Penn Yan Middle School, Workforce Development, Yates County Chamber of Commerce, and business partners from area industries successfully held a career day for 8th graders on May 9th. Presenters from five different industries informed students of the educational and career opportunities that face them in coming years. The event was deemed a success for all involved and will be expanded to include more sectors in the coming years. To read more about the event, click here.
Residents and officials alike gathered at Water Street Wine & Spirits for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres Wednesday, November 6th, before venturing over to the newly renovated upscale apartments next door. Hundreds turned out to see the tranformation along the Keuka Outlet, thanks to Birkett Landing developer Chris Iversen and local businessman Ray Spencer, owner of Water Street Wine & Spirits . Birkett Landing features 13 state-of-the-art apartments in the old Birkett Mills warehouses. Iversen maintained the 19th century structures’ history and integrity and the results were impresive.
